The month of November and Thanksgiving are a time for being thankful, but what about the other 11 months and 364 days in the year?
Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, I have been without my laptop, smart phone, and hair dryer. Being without these essential items I have been given the gift of time and reflection; what I have found is that I am selfish and not at all thankful for the things that I have: health, home, husband, children and a loving God and Savior. All I could seem to think and talk about was my current misfortune, I was miserable, rude and an all around killjoy. Then it occurred to me that my Savior Jesus Christ did without and not once did he question as to why; He was faithful and thankful for everything He had, even death, He was thankful to die on the cross for me and my sins.
I need to be thankful.
In my new found thankfulness, I am waking up each day and going to bed each night being thankful in my circumstances. I am rewiring myself to be thankful for something new each and every day, and I must say its working. My attitude and overall demeanor has drastically improved. I may be without worldly luxuries, but I am saved and forgiven and loved and that's more than enough for me. I am however looking forward to upgrading my luxuries soon, that's the bright side, through lemons you get lemonade.
What are you thankful for?
